Kenneth Chesebro Reaches Plea Deal in Trump Georgia Election Tampering Case
Kenneth Chesebro, a co-defendant in former President Donald Trump’s Georgia election interference case, has taken a last-minute plea deal in the case.
The deal comes after the jury selection process had gotten underway Friday.
Chesebro, who has no previous criminal history, is being sentenced to 5 years of probation, 100 hours of community service, and at least $5000 in penalties. Additionally, Chesebro is required to both publish a letter of apology to the citiziens of the state of Georgia and testify in upcoming trials connected to the RICO investigation into tampering with the 2020 presidential election, a probe that has been headed by Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis.
The plea could give Fulton County DA Fani Willis an express lane of access into the workings of Trump’s legal effort to reverse his 2020 defeat.
