BREAKING: Matt Gaetz Withdraws Name from Consideration as Trump’s Attorney General
It looks like the heat was too much for ex-congresscritter Matt “Likes ’em Young Allegedly” Gaetz:
Matt Gaetz has withdrawn himself from consideration to President-Elect Donald Trump’s nominee for attorney general, the former Florida congressman announced on Thursday afternoon.
Gaetz made the announcement on the social media site formerly known as Twitter:
I had excellent meetings with Senators yesterday. I appreciate their thoughtful feedback – and the incredible support of so many. While the momentum was strong, it is clear that my confirmation was unfairly becoming a distraction to the critical work of the Trump/Vance…

The tweet suggests that Gaetz was told that the House Judiciary Committee’s unpublished report detailing Gaetz’s alleged human trafficking and sex with underage women was going to go public one way or another.
The move by Gaetz also strongly suggests that president-elect Donald Trump will not see his cabinet nominees rubber-stamped – by Republicans.
